Rub the chicken with lime juice and wash. - Mix chicken, sliced garlic and shallots, salt, sugar and stock. Squeeze the chicken and set aside about 30 minutes.
Add the chillies, then take a sheet of banana leaves, place pieces of lemongrass, bay leaves, and galangal. - Spoon the chicken mixture and add coconut milk to taste
Wrap and embed with sticks, steam with low heat 1 hour until completely cooked. - Garang Asem is ready to be served with any dish you like.
Note: - This Garang Asem Recipe should use starfruit or grean tomatoes or red tomato. But because there are no starfruit seeds here in Australia and I also don't have tomato stock, so just use only simple spices. 😍
