1. Take 1 kg Minced Steak
2. Prepare 2 Large Onions (finely diced)

6. Make ready 1 litre Water
7. Prepare 3 Beef Stock Cubes
8. Make ready 1 Chicken Stock Cube
9. Take 4 tsp thickener (ie. Flour or cornflour)
10. Make ready 1/4 tsp Salt
11. Take 1/4 tsp Pepper
12. Take Gravy Browning

Steps to make Beef and Onion in Gravy:

1. Gently fry off the onions on a low heat until softened.
2. Add beef and fry until cooked
3. Add 1 Cup Peas, 1 Cup Sweetcorn, 1 Cup finely Chopped Carrots.
4. Dissolve stock Cubes (3 Beef & 1 Chicken) in 1 litre of hot water. Add to Beef.
5. Simmer for 15 mins.
6. Add gravy Browning according to required colour.
7. Mix thickener (of choice) with a little water and pour into the meat and veg mix. Allow to simmer and thicken. You can add more or less thickener according to preference. Stir gently to prevent sticking.
8. Add 1/4 tsp Salt & 1/4 tsp Pepper (according to taste).
9. Serve with mashed potato, as a pie filling, or Cottage Pie filling.
