  1. Make ready 3 big boiled potatoes
  2. Take 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  3. Make ready 2 tbsp green chillies ginger paste
  4. Make ready 1 tbsp garlic paste
  5. Get 1/2 lemon (juice)
  6. Make ready to taste Salt
  7. Prepare For tempering-
  8. Take 1 tsp oil

  18. Prepare 1/4 tsp soda bi carb
  19. Prepare as required Oil for frying
  20. Get To serve with batatavada.
  21. Prepare as required Spicy dry garlic chutney
  22. Take few Green chillies

Steps to make Batata vada:
  1. Peel and mash potatoes in mixing bowl. Add green chillies ginger paste, garlic paste, chopped coriander leaves and salt to taste. In small takda pan, heat 1 tsp oil, add urad dal, saute till pinkish, add mustard and cumin seeds as they splutter add curry leaves and turmeric powder, pour this tadka on potato mixture.
  2. Mix well and make equal 7-8 balls from prepared potato mixture.
  3. In bowl add all mentioned ingredients for making batter except soda bicarb. Add enough water to make smooth semi-thick batter.
  4. Heat oil in frying pan. Add soda bicarb to chickpea flour batter.Mix well. Dip & coat each prepared spiced potato balls in batter, drop them in hot oil 2-3 at a time. Deep fry on medium flame till crispy golden brown.
  5. Serve Delicious Hot Batata Vada with spicy dry garlic chutney and green chillies.
