  1. Take 3-4 sweet potatoes
  2. Take 1 cup sooji (semolina)

Instructions to make Sweet Potato Kakara:
  1. First of all boil the sweet potatoes. Then peel and get them mashed.
  2. Heat water in a kadai or deep pan. Add salt, sugar and cardamom powder. When water starts to boil, add mashed sweet potato and keep stirring for some time. Next add sooji (semolina) slowly slowly and stir it continuously to avoid lump formation.
  3. Then reduce the flame to low and allow it to cook until you get a thick dough. Keep the dough to cool on room temperature.
  4. Transfer the dough to a plate and knead it by adding 1 tsp ghee to make it more soft.
  5. Grease your hands and divide the dough into 10-12 equal portions. Take one portion of dough and make a ball. Flatten it like a disc with the help of your palms. Make similar discs or kakaras with rest of the dough.
  6. Now heat sufficient oil in a pan over a medium flame. Then deep fry these flattened balls or kakaras till they turn golden brown from both sides.
  7. Remove and place them on an absorbent paper.
  8. Serve the sweet potato kakara warm.
